The BAKFlip MX4 (Gen 3) Hard Folding Tonneau Cover (448440) is made for the 2022-2026 Toyota Tundra with a 5'7" bed. It folds forward against the cab for full bed access, then closes and locks to protect what you carry.
The BAKFlip MX4 is BAK's step-up folding cover. This Gen 3 version adds stronger panels, a tighter seal and a re-engineered auto-latch.
The Tundra bed carries a lot, and the right cover locks it down on the road and opens it up when you load.
Edge-to-edge sealing. New EPDM perimeter seals and tight-fitting clamps reduce seepage at the bed rails, the dual-action tailgate seal is 13% longer on most applications, and built-in water drainage moves moisture out of the way.
Auto-latch security. The patented auto-latch engages the moment you close the cover, so there is no separate locking step to forget. Re-engineered latching panels and lock components improve forced-entry resistance compared with the previous generation.
Clean lines. Textured matte black covers the panels, rails and clamps, and the flush fit along the bed rails keeps the profile low.
Gen 3 strength. The top panels are multi-layer aluminum over a high-density polymer core and are 22% stronger than the original MX4, while precision-engineered aluminum side rails and frame keep the cover rigid. It is rated for 400 lb of evenly distributed weight.
Open the bed, keep the cover. Drop the tailgate, release the rear latch, and fold the cover up against the cab for 100% bed access, even for large cargo. Re-engineered prop rod clips hold it open, premium rubber bumpers protect the cab and the cover, and the third brake light stays visible in every position.
Check before you buy: It is not compatible with Trail Special Edition storage boxes. Also match the bed length shown in the fitment line above.
Assembled in the USA and covered by a five-year limited warranty, the BAK 448440 is the Gen 3 upgrade for owners who want a stronger, tighter-sealing folding cover. Order it from Track Ready Products and check the bed length above.
Bolt-on, click-in mounting keeps the install simple: one person, basic hand tools, usually 30 minutes or less, and the hardware is in the box.
Clean the bed rail caps first so the seals sit on a clean surface, set the cover in place, and tighten the clamps evenly from side to side. Work the cover open and closed once before you load the bed. If your Tundra has factory tie-down cleats, they have to come off during installation and cannot be reinstalled.
Recheck the clamps after about a week, wash with mild automotive soap and water, and clear off snow and ice before opening. Keep the cover secured at all points whenever you drive.
