This is the rear left B8 5160 with remote reservoir, a monotube design that adds oil capacity and heat dissipation over a standard shock, which matters most when you're running sustained rough terrain rather than the occasional pothole. The reservoir connects through a 360-degree swivel banjo fitting, which lets you route the hose cleanly regardless of your chassis mounting angle instead of fighting a fixed-angle fitting to avoid a kink.
It's a direct bolt-on for stock height up to a 2" lift, no cutting or custom brackets required, and Bilstein backs it with a limited lifetime warranty for products purchased through an authorized North American distributor.
This is a left-side-only part, sold individually. If you're doing the full rear axle, order the matching right-side B8 5160 as well, this SKU alone won't cover both corners.
Reservoir mounts and hardware are included in the box, and factory shock mounting bolts are reused for install, so you're not sourcing new hardware to get this on the truck. The swivel banjo fitting means you have real flexibility in hose routing, use it, route the hose away from anything exhaust-adjacent and clear of moving suspension components at full droop and full compression before you tighten anything down permanently.
Like any new shock, expect a short break-in period, the damping can feel slightly different for the first several miles as internal components seat. That's normal and not a sign of a bad install.
