The TruXport 256001 is the short-bed soft roll-up for the 2016-2023 Tacoma, and it plays well with the Trail Special Edition storage boxes if your truck has them.

Getting into the bed is quick. Pull the cable from either side of the tailgate, roll the cover forward to the cab, and strap it down with the built-in straps for access to the whole bed. TruGuide stay-straight controls keep the roll from twisting or bunching.
Plan on roughly half an hour. It clamps to the bed rails with the supplied vehicle-specific hardware and needs no drilling, cutting or other modifications.
Check the rail clamps for tightness after the first week and every so often after that. Keep the cover secured while you drive, wash it with mild automotive soap and water only, and clear snow and ice before rolling it open.
