The 2005-2015 Tacoma with the 5'1" bed has a straightforward soft roll-up option in the TruXport 255801, a vinyl-grain cover that clamps to the bed rails. TruXedo supplies the install sheet for the single-latch Tacoma setup.
The TruXport's factory-calibrated SureTension system does the tightening for you. It holds the vinyl taut across the whole bed, helps keep the edges from curling up, and never needs a manual adjustment, while built-in structural supports cut down on sag, pooled water and wind flap whether the cover is open or closed.
Getting into the bed is quick. Pull the cable from either side of the tailgate, roll the cover forward to the cab, and strap it down with the built-in straps for access to the whole bed. TruGuide stay-straight controls keep the roll from twisting or bunching.
Installation is a one-person, clamp-on job that takes 30 minutes or less, with no cutting or drilling. The hardware in the box is vehicle specific.
Check the rail clamps for tightness after the first week and every so often after that. Keep the cover secured while you drive, wash it with mild automotive soap and water only, and clear snow and ice before rolling it open.
