Racers who run a 16V system get a lighter option in the Antigravity AG-VTX-20-R, a YTX12-case VTX-20 lithium battery with a right-side negative terminal.
It stores 12.5Ah of actual capacity, which Antigravity compares to a 25Ah lead-acid battery, and 200 Wh of energy, in a 5.15 lb body that measures 5.9 x 3.43 x 5.12 in. Antigravity claims weight savings of up to 28 lb in race cars and 14 lb on motorcycles, and says it holds its charge for up to about a year with no parasitic drain. The terminals are all brass.
The VTX-20 is a 16V race battery, so it belongs in a vehicle built for a 16-volt system. Antigravity lists it as 16V nominal with an actual voltage of 16.5V, and the standard YTX12 case size makes it a straightforward fit where that size of battery is used. A foam kit is available separately. Add the Antigravity AG-VTX-20-R to your cart at Track Ready Products and take the weight out of your next build.
Match the terminal side to your harness before you order: this version has the negative on the right.
Disconnect the old battery negative first, install the VTX-20, and reconnect positive then negative. A foam kit is sold separately if you want to isolate the case.
Antigravity lists a 16V lithium charger (AG-BC-16V, 5A) as a related accessory. Do not use a 12V or lead-acid charger on a 16V battery.
