The K&N KT-1113 is a washable, oiled cotton-gauze panel filter for the KTM 1190 Adventure. The manufacturer lists it at 7.313 x 5.5 inches with a 1.625-inch height, so it drops into the stock airbox rather than requiring modifications. Its layered gauze is treated with a tacky oil that captures fine dust, and the manufacturer says a K&N element alone generally does not require jetting changes. Owners on user forums often describe the stock 1190 airbox as leaking around its seal, which lets dust bypass the filter on gravel and dusty roads, so a reusable high-flow element is a practical upgrade for riders who want to avoid buying disposable filters repeatedly. Search terms this part targets include KTM 1190 Adventure R air filter, 1190 Adventure dust protection, washable panel air filter, and K&N 1190 intake filter.
Fitment should be confirmed before ordering. The manufacturer's application listing for the 1190 Adventure covers 2013-2016 models, and the same listing includes the 1190 Adventure R. The manufacturer's KT-1113 product page, however, also headlines a 1290 Super Duke application, so details vary and buyers should verify by model year and VIN. Maintenance is straightforward: the manufacturer's cleaning procedure calls for a 10-minute soak in K&N cleaner, a low-pressure rinse from the clean side outward, air drying, then oiling the pleat crowns and letting the oil wick for about 20 minutes. The manufacturer lists 0.89 oz (26 ml) as the factory re-oiling amount, which serves as a benchmark for how much oil to use.

The manufacturer lists a factory re-oiling amount of 0.89 oz (26 ml). Use that figure as a benchmark, apply oil along the crown of each pleat, and avoid saturating the media.
Owners on user forums say cleaning frequency depends on how dusty the riding has been, and many inspect the element after dusty rides rather than waiting for a set interval.
Owners on user forums describe the airbox top cover as held by a set of coarse screws that thread into plastic, so tightening them too far or starting them out of alignment can strip the holes and stop the box from sealing against the filter. Start each screw by hand, confirm it is seated in the existing thread, and tighten gently. Seal integrity matters on this bike, so check the rubber sealing edges before reassembly. Plan on a moderate, careful job with basic hand tools, and check the factory service manual for the exact removal sequence, since forum accounts vary on the steps. Clean and oil the element before installing it, and allow it to dry fully so the oil can penetrate the cotton.
