For a dedicated weekend car in a dry climate, the open design's sound and carbon tube may matter more to you. Track Series is for drivers who want open-element sound and a carbon tube, and it's offered on fewer cars. Check what aFe lists for your vehicle first; often only one is available.<\/p>\n\n      <h3>Does a cold air intake help on track?<\/h3>\n\n      <p>It can, but gains are specific to each car and part number. aFe publishes dyno results on individual product pages, and they vary widely between vehicles. Don't expect one kit's number to apply to yours. Pro 5R is a five-layer oiled cotton gauze media that aFe positions for the highest flow, and you re-oil it after cleaning using aFe's restore kit. Many Momentum GT kits come in both versions, so check the listing title.<\/p>\n\n      <h3>Will an open intake heat-soak?<\/h3>\n\n      <p>Any intake picks up heat when the car is stopped or creeping through the paddock. aFe uses shields or housings on Track Series and Magnum FORCE kits to reduce hot engine air reaching the filter, but an open element relies more on that shield than a sealed box does.
